Historic Spanish Point
337 N. Tamiami Trail,
Osprey, FL 34229
Tuesday, February 20, 2017
Explore 5,000 years of history at Historic
Spanish Point in Osprey. The families that
homesteaded this location weren’t the only
one’s who had to contend with saw palmetto,
rattle snakes and alligators. Life had been
going on for many years before in this location.
This is a 1 mile walking guided tour taking
about 2 hours. There are benches and rest
rooms along the way. In the winter they do
recommend a wind breaker or light jacket as
winds do pick-up along Sarasota Bay.
Cost: $ 9.00/person for groups. We need to
have reservations in by February 6.
We will have lunch following the tour at a near
by restaurant. Directions to be handed out at
HSP.
Directions: From I-75, take Laurel Rd. exit
(exit195)W. to US 41 (Tamiami Trail) and
continue north for 4 miles. The museum is on
the left.
